B&W Sunday: Summertime


Well, summer is here and its hot! I know that the Lady I rescued is thinking about getting out my pool, or worse yet, taking me to the beach again. Just in case I may like the water now. Which I know she wishes I did, so she is reminiscing about two summers ago when as a young one I was more adventurous!


Lately she has begun to ask herself, how can our blog be the adventures of a Doxie mix rescue when we don't go on any adventures?

    Doxie, you'll have to invent some adventures to go on! Even if it's in your yard, you can still have adventures.

    We agree Dolly you have to invent some adventures or hint heavily to mum that you need to go out and find some. Stay cool. Hope you all have a serene Sunday.

    It's okay Dolly... we don't like the water, either. Mama has a hard enough time just giving us a bath. We act like it's the worst thing in the whole world even though she's really gentle. In fact, we just had a bath today and it was the total worst ever!
    We love the top picture of you checking out the water with your paw!! We probably wouldn't even do that. We don't live anywhere near a beach, so we've never been to one. Mom says maybe someday, 'cuz she'd love to see how we react to the water coming up on the beach. Sounds scary, plus we might try to bite crabs or something.
    We don't go on a lot of adventures either. Mostly 'cuz we get over-excited and act like total maniacs in the car. So I don't know how we'd ever make it to a beach.
    Tell your mom that you might like the beach again if you just go slow. Like go to the beach, but don't go anywhere near the water. Then next time get a little closer, and next time a little closer, and so on. Ya never know! Might be fun again!
    Uh oh, mom says we're blabbin' too much! Gotta go!

    Adventures are the best! Even if it is a ride to the dump yard like our hounds got today, they love the smells! How about mini-adventures?! Tons of fun games to play around the house and that little pool looks like it would be a blast!

    Dollie I never liked the water either but then we moved to Australia and the Summers were very hot - and then I started to become a real water dog! But it's ok if you don't like it - every day is an adventure in its own way!

    I'm with you, Dolly. Those pool things are highly over-rated . . . and it takes a lot of nerve for me to say that because I'm a retriever and we're supposed to like pools!
